A Brief History of Corruption in India Dr Gould has presented a more or less accurate and objective account of corruption in modern India . Had Dr Gould as a historian widened his canvas to include ancient and medieval India the study would have been more useful . In his study what Dr Gould could not understand was the fact that the present conflagration against corruption was the people's way of showing its disenchantment with and distrust of the present ruling regime .
